    This crashes right away(startup) under windows7 .
    jester
@numero - if you have PYTHONPATH set, unset it. If you have scandics or other non-ascii chars in your path, put Blender somewhere where there aren't.

    thankyou!

this release contain also the new smoke optimisation of sbn25211 ?

why does 2.5 still have the 3D cursor? its the only 3D application that uses it as far as I'm aware, and for me it mostly gets in the way... is it just me?
Dragging the object where you want it, or specifying its exact location in the object properties makes more sence to me, the same applys to
Select two verts, snap the 3D cursor to the location between the two verts, snap an item to that 3d cursor, why do you need to do the middle step?

If I've stuck this in the wrong place please let me know?

@Stephen: probably better to have this debate on Blenderartists. I will just say that the 3D cursor is one of the things that make Blender so fast to use. Once you have worked out a few tricks, it is like having a second hand in 3D space (where the pointer is the first hand), allowing you far quicker and more precise control than without it.

    @jester: thanks for the build(s).

in the video sequence editor, when i am in image preview mode, when I go to view -> fit preview in window, it becomes extremely small, and becomes way smaller than the size of the window.

Am i missing something obvious or is it a bug?

Please just user 7zip next time, self extracting exe's are annoying.

Instead of complaining next time, just right-click the self-extracting archive and do whatever 7zip action from the context menu you want.

Can't seem to get this file to extract with 7-zip, or by running the exe.

Sorry everybody - the previous upload was missing .blender and its subdirs, resulting in either empty menus or even crashing Blender. It is fixed now.

Is there a way we could see the date of every single message on this forum so we could track new messages?

Blender crashes on render for me, no matter how I set the render output.

Using Win7. Just sculpted and rendered a rather heavy 'ice sculpture'. No problems (other than those in the bug tracker). Thanks for the build.

Excuse the echo from the blog post. Here's what I said over there at Jesterking's blog post.

@Jesterking I like your naming convention it's neat. May I suggest adding a suffix at the end of the filename, such as your builders initials. Something along the lines.

    1175_blender-2.5-r30109-win64-jesterking
[number] [name] [version] [svn] [compiler optional] [os] [builder name]

    If not that's okay.

@Jesterking nevermind about my suggestion. heh 8-)

    Hi jesterKing,

Many thanks for your builds! I was wondering if its possible for you to build a 64-bit version with fastmath enabled? I've been playing with the 32-bit optimised versions with fastmath and it makes an appreciable difference to render times, but I've got a project that needs a lot of memory and crashes the 32-bit versions, but rendering is going to take an age without fastmath.

    Many thanks for your time,

    Andy C
