Note: No build today, I'm getting segmentation faults on Ubuntu/Fedora. Will upload when it's fixed :)

This is the GSOC Bratwurst branch of Blender, compiled on Fedora 17 64bit.

@Temujin, Finally got Ubuntu sorted out! I've compiled a bratwurst build but am getting a segmentation fault when running it. I've reported it to the devs, so when it's fixed I'll upload it :D

@ Temujin; Errrrm, depends whether Ubuntu will play nice with Fedora. I'll look into it :)

Is it possible for an Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit build of this or a subsequent Bratwurst ?

Thank you.

@ mlitworowski, Sorry I don't build on windows :( I've tried a couple of times but was never able to figure it out.

Do you need FBX and Collada import? If so, try using this build for the FBX: http://graphicall.org/1000. And the official Blender binary from blender.org has Collada enabled, so you could use that for Collada import.

Let me know if that works :)

Could you be so kind and compile Bratwurst Branch with Collada for Winx64?

@ bennyd, I've been there too :( I'm not sure why you're getting that particular error. Whenever I get build problems like that I always ask for help on the GSOC mailing list here: http://lists.blender.org/mailman/listinfo/soc-2012-dev. The devs have always been very helpful when I asked about things like that.

All you need to do is:
1. sign up to the mailing list
2. send an email to 'soc-2012-dev@blender.org' with your problem in the subject line (e.g 'bratwurst build stops at stack.c'), and more details in the email itself. You'll want to paste the errors you're getting either directly in the email or at pasteall.org.
3. Wait for an answer :) You can choose to get a list of all new messages in the mailing list daily, or you can just check the archives from your browser: http://lists.blender.org/pipermail/soc-2012-dev/

HTH, let me know if it you get a fix :)

@JamesNZ

I'm interested in the fbx-importer from aramis. Trying to build myself on mac os x 10.6.8 and on ubuntu 10.04 lucid with scons gave me this error today

Compiling ==> 'stack.c'
source/blender/blenlib/intern/stack.c:43: error: redefinition of typedef ‘BLI_Stack’
source/blender/blenlib/BLI_stack.h:31: note: previous declaration of ‘BLI_Stack’ was here
scons: *** [/home/benny/Software/build/linux/source/blender/blenlib/intern/stack.o] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

Why is this so so complicated? I just want this mac binary…

At the moment this is the latest build available: http://graphicall.org/955

If there's a specific feature you're interested in you could go to that projects blenderartists thread and ask for an OSX build?

Hey, where Do I get a Mac OS X build of bratwurst? Can anyone build this?
cheers benny

@James:
Ok. You got me. I didn't enable this vars in the CMake Config. Now it works. Thanks a lot.

Odd, did you enable the 'WITH_ASSIMP' and 'WITH_FBX' flags?

Neither the windows build from demohero nor a build I created today for myself have the FBX import button on the usual place. Think I have to wait for it now.

On my builds it's under File >> Import >> FBX.

@JamesNZ:
I tried the build from demohero but I cant find the button for the import script.

But this leads me to the question if there is even any button for fbx import. Or do I have to call a python script? Sorry for asking silly questions...

Doesn't Demohero's build work on your system? http://graphicall.org/934
10:24 July 13th, 2012
Is there already a windows build of bratwurst with FBX import?

Sure, here's the link: http://www.pasteall.org/33566/text

:-( strange, I use Fedora17 64b as well, and I can build it.

You don't need assimp-devel etc - the latest assimp source is embedded in the blender build. Can you paste me the error log if you keep getting errors?

2 . JamesNZ (builder)
Ah yes, about that FBX thing, it's not compiling on my system unfortunately :( I have installed assimp and assimp_devel but if I enable both of them then I get errors about assimp :( I had a look in the advanced cmake settings but I can't see any option to specify any missing libraries etc. I'll definitely keep looking into it though :)

Thanks for marking bratwurst builds - should you post more, can you please build WITH_ASSIMP and WITH_FBX (CMake) respectively WITH_BF_ASSIMP and WITH_BF_FBX (Scons) so people can try out my fbx import as well?

Bye, Alex
