The Blender Candy branch includes new features the the BGE. It is being developed by mokazon and martinsh.

I did find that windows build in a link in the comments on blendernation, so thanks! I tried it out, and the area light works great, but how do I access the realtime sss feature? I used glsl materials and I couldn't find any new options for it...

This looks, AWESOME! Unfortunately, I'm on a win32 system...I'd like to upload a win32 build of this, and I want to know...are there any special libs or flags I need to compile? Anyways, great job. Can't WAIT to try this out!!!
