If Blender doesn't start after double clicking, you don't have all necessary dependencies installed.
On Ubuntu 11.04 just open up a terminal and copy/paste the following and press enter:

sudo apt-get install libpython3.2 libopenal1 libfftw3-3 libilmbase6 libopenexr6 libopenjpeg2 libspnav0

I just tested this on a fresh base installation of Ubuntu 11.04.

Hey, masher, why don't you update your builds so often? Yours are quite stable for me, and I miss them! ;)

Greetings!

5327_blender2.61.0_42628 works great on Ubuntu 11.10 system.

UVMaps issue solved when following the steps outlined in the png picture located at the top of this page!

Thanks

It sounds like you forgot to animate the Time Value of the Ocean modifier. Before I try to explain myself, just take a look at the following excellent tutorial at cgcookie.com

http://cgcookie.com/blender/2011/11/15/creating-an-ocean-scene-with-oceansim-and-cycles/

I hope it helps. I played around with the Ocean modifier with this build and it worked fine here.

Hello, im having problems with the ocean sim. I start with the default cube, put the ocean modifier and bake the default settings. When i play the animation you see only the static wave that was generated at first. Im not getting any errors in the console and im not sure if its just me. Let me know if there is something that im missing out.

@Tindrlink : if you are using ubuntu, try apt-get install libpython3.2 libopenal1 libfftw3-3 libilmbase6 libopenexr6 libavformat53 libavdevice53 libswscale2
...it seems to work for me, but note that I'm using Ubuntu 11.10.

The beat one so far! The many sub-windows are back and working find: I can ADD a circle, for example, and choose the number of Vertices!

Keep up the good work!

Most likely you don't have all necessary dependencies installed on your system. Start blender from the terminal and look at the error messages that show up there. It should tell you what needs to be installed.

@piotao
I'm glad you got it working. After all, we should keep in mind that it's a development build and likely to be not as stable as a regular release.
And yes, I love Cycles too ! ;-) The developers are doing a great job.

@masher: thank you. After some stressing hours of numerous trials I finally managed to render with audio. The setup was: MPEG + Quicktime preset + vorbis + mp2 audio. This somehow, once a time did not crash. Maybe also the restart or just another day at work helped, dunno. However, it was a great pain and such number of crashes never before happened to me. I'm lucky I finally managed to render! :)

Beside of this, this build is very good and I'll use it for another things! Cycles renderer just kicks ass!

Sorry, but I am afraid I can't help you with that. I never used the sequencer myself. I built with FFMPEG because I wanted to be able to render (using cycles) directly to x264. This worked here, but I didn't test anthing else regarding FFMPEG.

Hello, this build CRASHES in sequencer with some image/movie/mp3 strips, no matter what I'm doing for render the whole movie. This is annoying like a hell. Or it is able to render w/o sound, but with audio - it CRASHES constantly. Sometimes it prints "Error initializing audio stream". I desperately need some help, I don't know what to install / how to repair / how to force it to work. I have a rather urgent project, ready to final render thru sequencer, and I don't know what to do! Please, help, give me at least some advice. A number of required libraries I have already installed, prior to running blender. The system is Mint Linux 10.04 x64, cuda enabled.
