blender trunk, built on mountain lion, now compiled with cc/clang
Announcement #3 - 2014-01-18
I have been unable to upload my daily builds for a while now. I do make them available through Dropbox, if you are interested, you can just download it directly.
Announcement #2 - 2012-09-12
In order to keep the package size down and be able to upload it to graphicall.org, I've had to strip down the locale folders. I apologize for that, but my choices were either this or providing no uploads. The second newest OSX binary here is dated May 29th, so this seems an issue affecting other OSX builders as well.
From time to time I cannot upload my build due to the size of the dmg file. I am using the strongest compression level, but the build is still over 60mb limit. For this reason, I am making my build available via Dropbox. That build is updated daily shortly after 05:00am, CST.
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro8,1
Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 3000
VRAM (Total): 384 MB
Displacement modifier is broken. Can't assign UV texture maps. (under tex panel/displ)
Is this a bug of the release or of the build I don't know.
Please, don't confuse it with cycles displ or such. It's about the displacement modifier/or the textures panel. Which actually keeps other textures fine.
I can still open and render the blend file on previous release (53993)
Ah! One change I did notice a while back was that now you NEED to move the application out of the DMG file. I provide a convenient shortcut to your /Applications folder right from the DMG, so you can click-and-drag to it. Before I used to test my builds from within the DMG file and now I can't do this. Something changed in the codebase that requires write-access to the blender app folder, which can't happen with the DMG file.
I also changed the freestyle build app to blender-freestyle, in case you want to keep that and a normal blender app on the /Applications folder.
Please try that and see if it works for you.
I will upload a x64 Gcc 4.7 + OpenMP build soon.
I have plenty of problem with this Blender 2.61 (Lion) when I try to add material in Lux.
My mac is a Imac Intel 10.6.8 64 bits 12GB
I would be interested to know if this works for you, though. Could you test if it works and let us know your results?
Can I use this ( 10.7 Lion) upgrade on my Imac Intel i5 64 bits 12GB ( 10.6.8 Snow Leopard )
gpu support in cycles is for nvidia cards only. ati/amd cards are not supported (that i know of). more info here: http://blenderartists.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-217524.html
I am using a macbook pro 2011 on Lion 10.7.2 (AMD radeon HD 6750m)
Using Cycles, its OK with CPU. But with GPU it gives me a totally black rendered image... (it terminates immediatly whatever the number of samples is).
Is that normal ? Or how to correct this ?
