hey, carlos, can you please try and see if you still have the problem now? often times there are small things broken on the code-base that gets fixed from one day to the next and i could not duplicate the problem on the latest build (54658).

Yoyo, I've asked a few of my Mac friends to download and run my build. So far, none were able to reproduce the issue you reported... Could you confirm that you are not running the build from within the DMG file?

Displacement modifier is broken. Can't assign UV texture maps. (under tex panel/displ)
Is this a bug of the release or of the build I don't know.
Please, don't confuse it with cycles displ or such. It's about the displacement modifier/or the textures panel. Which actually keeps other textures fine.
I can still open and render the blend file on previous release (53993)

Ah! One change I did notice a while back was that now you NEED to move the application out of the DMG file. I provide a convenient shortcut to your /Applications folder right from the DMG, so you can click-and-drag to it. Before I used to test my builds from within the DMG file and now I can't do this. Something changed in the codebase that requires write-access to the blender app folder, which can't happen with the DMG file.

I also changed the freestyle build app to blender-freestyle, in case you want to keep that and a normal blender app on the /Applications folder.

Please try that and see if it works for you.

thanks for the tip, cseder, i've actually been compiling with cc/clang for a while now, so you should see the performance gains there. Also, I've changed the default movie clip cache limit from the stock 1024 to 32gb, matching the value on the 2.64a release by the BF, so if you are looking forward to playing around with the movie clip editor, this is a decent build to get... :)

Only Gcc 4.7+ supports OpenMP for the fastest multithreading. Gcc 4.2.1 is ages old. If you swap gcc for cc in your scons config, you use Clang 3.1 instead.
I will upload a x64 Gcc 4.7 + OpenMP build soon.

Spender, I am not sure. I don't have 10.5 to test... all my systems are running Lion now... sorry. :(
I would be interested to know if this works for you, though. Could you test if it works and let us know your results?

gpu support in cycles is for nvidia cards only. ati/amd cards are not supported (that i know of). more info here: http://blenderartists.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-217524.html

I am using a macbook pro 2011 on Lion 10.7.2 (AMD radeon HD 6750m)

Using Cycles, its OK with CPU. But with GPU it gives me a totally black rendered image... (it terminates immediatly whatever the number of samples is).

Is that normal ? Or how to correct this ?

Thanks !

Sciman3, I used scons to compile, which uses the stock gcc from osx dev tools. that gcc is version 4.2, as shown below.

gcc --version
i686-apple-darwin11-llvm-gcc-4.2 (GCC) 4.2.1 (Based on Apple Inc. build 5658) (LLVM build 2335.15.00)

What compiler did you compile this with? gcc 4.6.x?
