psilentrain1: When i get random UI problem like that I minimize or maximize blender and that usually fixes the problem.
but I do not exactly why its doing that. I would look into graphics drivers. good luck:)

On Ubuntu 11.10 x64

Blender is just whitescreening
Get window and title bar...no errors in terminal..Anything I may be missing?

Working fine in Linux Mint 11. Thanks for the build! ;)

Bruno, there should be something like "terminal" "xterm" or "console" in the applications menu of your desktop, open it. consider you have blender executable located in "/Downloads/blender/". then write "Downloads/blender/blender" in the terminal window you just opened. hit RET. any errors will be echoed to that terminal window in the background.

OK, but i'm kinda new to Linux. Where i find these terminal errors? I opened it and there's nothing there. Thanks!

Try build => 39097. If that does not work let me know of any errors in the terminal.

strange but can't enable Luxblend in Blender and when runing Blender in terminal as root I have error with Pylux (all luxrender/luxblend files I have from official Luxrender.net site and pylux.so is where luxblend script .py exists)

>Fatsnacker : thanks for the hint about the python 3.2 prefix, I finally managed to compile on ubuntu 11.04.
You should post this somewhere on blenderartists

Building Blender on Ubuntu 11:04

1) Use the Instructions from the Blender website on installing the dependancies, svn etc and the relevant directories.
2) You can install Python3.2 from the package manager on Ubuntu 11.04
3) Important, my version of Linux is 64bit Ubuntu 11.04. Amend the relevant scons files in my case Linux2.py (I think)
Python3.2 is actually installed on the system under python32mu directory, so it this can edit the linux2.py file and change the switches to "mu", Python_Dir is "../usr".

To use this build on fresh installation Ubuntu 11.04 you have to install those libraries with dependencies using Synaptic: libpython3.2, libopenal1, libilmbase6, libopenexr, and libavdevice-dev.
